Product Overview
A 180° elbow, also known as a return bend, is one of the core and widely used fittings in piping systems, primarily employed to redirect the flow of the medium by 180°. Featuring a smooth, rounded transition design, it effectively reduces fluid resistance and pressure loss, ensuring stable and unobstructed media conveyance. With its compact structure and convenient installation, it is an essential basic component for various industrial piping applications where installation space is limited and U‑shaped bends are required.
Production Process and Specification Parameters
Manufactured using proven hot‑push forming, cold extrusion, and stamping processes, the elbows feature uniform wall thickness, smooth inner and outer surfaces, and a robust overall structure.
Forming Type: Seamless, Welded
Flow range: Seamless DN15–DN1200; welded DN200–DN2000
Wall thickness grades: SCH10, SCH20, standard wall thickness STD, SCH40, SCH60, SCH80, extra‑thick wall thickness XS, and ultra‑extra‑thick wall thickness XXS; custom thickened wall thicknesses are available, with a maximum thickness of up to 150 mm.
Bending radius: 1D short radius, 1.5D long radius; custom non-standard special radii available.
Applicable Materials and Implementation Standards
Made with premium raw materials and available in multiple material options, it is suitable for a wide range of operating conditions.
Carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, low-temperature steel, and other custom specialty materials
Manufactured in strict compliance with the following international standards: ASME B16.9, GB/T 12459, DIN 2615, GOST 17375, JIS B2311.
Quality Control and Surface Treatment
All 180° elbows undergo a comprehensive suite of rigorous inspections, including chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing, hydrostatic pressure testing, and nondestructive testing by ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and radiographic methods, ensuring stable and reliable product performance.
Optional surface treatments include anti-corrosion paint, 3LPE coating, hot-dip galvanizing, sandblasting, and more, significantly enhancing the corrosion resistance of pipe fittings and extending their service life.
Application areas
Widely used in pipeline systems across the petroleum, natural gas, chemical, water supply and drainage, power, marine, and metallurgical industries, it is suitable for low‑pressure, medium‑pressure, high‑pressure, and corrosion‑resistant complex industrial operating conditions, and is particularly well suited to pipeline projects that require 180° redirection of the conveyed medium.
Customized Services
Our factory offers end-to-end custom fabrication of 180° elbows, supporting non‑standard diameters, special wall thicknesses, specialized materials, bespoke bend radii, and tailored anti‑corrosion treatments. We can precisely manufacture according to customer drawings, samples, and on‑site requirements, ensuring consistent product quality, tight dimensional tolerances, and short lead times.
